Helix Innovation Partnerships Ltd has a proven track record in promoting, managing and delivering large scale innovation programmes on behalf of Public Sector Bodies.
A good example of our success in delivering large scale innovation programmes is the InterTradeIreland FUSION Programme. FUSION is a cross-border technology transfer initiative that gives companies access to the wealth of R&D expertise and facilities in our universities and colleges across the island or Ireland, allowing them to make strategic advances in innovation capacity and capability.
FUSION develops and facilitates partnerships between companies with a technology need on one side of the border, and colleges or universities that can provide the required expertise on the other side. A high calibre graduate is then employed by the company to spearhead a project. The graduate acts as the link and agent of technology and knowledge transfer between the university and the company partner. FUSION is now one of InterTradeIrelandís flagship Programmes

Enterprise Europe Network
Another example of our work on innovation with SMEs is brokering partnerships with overseas organisations is the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN). Enterprise Europe Northern Ireland, based in Invest Northern Ireland, is one of 74 such centres throughout Europe comprising the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) and Helix works closely with this Centre to help local companies find partners for their technologies and products across Europe and further afield.
The main role of the EEN is to assist local companies with collaboration in Europe. Collaboration can involve technology or products coming into Northern Ireland or a local technology being transferred across Europe. In all cases the technology must be innovative to qualify for help. This can take the form of licensing a new technology, embarking on a joint venture, signing a manufacturing agreement or a commercial agreement with some technical assistance.

The Aspire Programme
Funded by INTERREG IVA, the Aspire Programme will select 45 micro businesses in the East Border Region area who can demonstrate the potential for measurable growth for their business in terms of sales, profitability, cross-border trade, innovation and sustainability. Aspire will then train and mentor business owners to help them to develop an effective business improvement plan to achieve that growth.
With a clear business plan in place, Aspire will support each business to recruit a graduate whose skills will drive that plan over a twelve month period. Aspire will work with the employer and graduate to monitor the success of the business plan to ensure that the graduateís particular skills are being used effectively to boost the bottom line for the business and maximise employment opportunities for the graduate.
